Nigerian filmmaker Olu The Wave is known not only for his unique visual style but also for the way he welcomes working with a wide range of people.
When asked which artists he would like to work with, his answer is broad and open. “There are so many, honestly, too many to count. I want to create for everyone,” he says, showing his interest in telling different kinds of stories with different voices.
This mindset is clear in his past work with some of Nigeria’s top music stars. Olu The Wave has directed music videos for artists like Fireboy DML, Falz, Iyanya, and Olamide, bringing his creative vision to each project.
His videos connect well with fans and highlight each artist’s style. Instead of sticking to one type of music or story, Olu enjoys exploring different ideas and building real connections. “I just want to experience people and have them experience me. I want to collaborate widely, create deeply, and tell stories across as many voices as possible,” he says.
As he looks to the future, Olu The Wave plans to keep growing through consistent, honest work. “I’m constantly working, whether it’s short films, documentaries, or more music videos. I just want to keep creating, keep the momentum going, and keep pushing myself,” he says.
