Davido has taken to social media to accuse Gboyega Oyetola, former governor of Osun State and current Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, of political desperation.
In a series of posts on Tuesday, Davido described Oyetola as the “most desperate politician in the world” and warned that his alleged plans in the state “no go work.”
“The most desperate politician in the world is @GboyegaOyetola, very embarrass,” the singer tweeted. In another post, he added: “OYETOLA UR PLAN NO GO WORK.”

The outburst comes amid escalating political tension in Osun State ahead of the August 15 governorship election. Recently, the Accord Party accused thugs linked to the All Progressives Congress (APC) of attacking the campaign office of Governor Ademola Adeleke and the party’s secretariat in Osogbo, the state capital.
Maxwell Mgbuden, national chairman of Accord, said this was the second attack on the governor’s campaign office in two weeks. According to Mgbuden, armed men allegedly fired sporadically at the building, shattering windows and damaging offices, including that of Victor Akande, chairman of Accord in Osun. The attackers reportedly inscribed “Say no to automatic ticket” on the walls, allegedly targeting the opposition party’s efforts to destabilize the state.
Davido, who joined the Accord Party earlier this year, was appointed head of youth mobilization for the party’s campaign council in April. He recently inaugurated the Imole Youth Mobilization Campaign Council, further cementing his role in the party ahead of the upcoming election
