American rapper Kodak Black has been arrested in Florida on a drug trafficking charge linked to an ongoing 2025 investigation.
According to reports, the rapper was taken into custody on Wednesday and booked into the Orange County Corrections Department on allegations related to trafficking MDMA, a synthetic stimulant commonly known as ecstasy. Official booking records also showed Kodak appearing noticeably stern in his latest mugshot, a stark contrast to the confident demeanor fans are used to seeing from the controversial artist.
Kodak’s attorney, Bradford Cohen, has strongly pushed back against the accusations, describing the case as legally weak and insisting his client voluntarily surrendered as part of a coordinated legal process connected to a November 2025 incident.
According to Cohen, law enforcement officers searched a vehicle during the earlier investigation, but Kodak was reportedly not inside the car at the time. Police allegedly recovered a bag containing several items, including a bottle of prescription cough syrup said to carry Kodak’s fingerprint. Prosecutors later tied the discovery to the trafficking charge now facing the rapper.
Cohen, however, maintains that the evidence does not justify the severity of the charge and says the defense team is prepared to challenge the case aggressively in court.
“We look forward to yet another fruitful resolution to another case that should have never been filed,” Cohen stated.
The latest arrest adds to Kodak Black’s long and complicated history with law enforcement. Over the years, the Florida-born rapper has faced multiple legal issues ranging from drug and weapons possession to assault, battery, and trespassing charges. Despite his legal battles, Kodak has remained one of hip-hop’s most recognizable and commercially successful figures, continuing to release music and maintain a devoted fan base.
Authorities have not yet announced a court date or further details regarding the case.
