Funke Akindele has opened up, for the first time, on news making the rounds that she’s getting marred on May 26.
The ‘Jenifa’ star’s reps confirmed to NET this morning that the actress will indeed be getting married this year but that ‘May 26 is only a family-traditional introduction. We however want it to be as private as possible’.
‘A wedding proper will happen later on in December’ a rep at BigSam Media tells us.
‘We understand the press are quite eager to report the story because not much is known about Funke’s love life but the couple are taking it slow’, a friend of Funke tells NET.
We do not know the identity of the groom-to-be. The actress’ reps have also failed to answer questions about who Akindele will be tying the knot with.
In March 2012, the 35-year-old bachelorette stepped out with an unidentified young man to the weekly Industry Nite at Oriental Hotels; Lekki where Square Records act May D was hosted. Her reps also did not offer any info when we asked who the mystery man was.
Akindele has had a very successful career so far with her ‘The Return of Jenifa’ movie grossing N30m in total sales; and bagging endorsement deals from Globacom, So KLIN to being a brand ambassador for the Lagos state internal revenue service’s (LIRS).
