Heroic Japanese footballer and the world’s oldest footballer, Kazuyoshi Miura, does not look like he is ready or even willing to quit playing the sport he loves so much anytime soon.
The Yokohoma FC striker just signed a professional football contract that will take him into his 50s. He will turn 50 on 26 February.
The striker said: ‘I hope to keep fighting with all my might together with people involved with the club, my teammates and supporters who have always given me support.’

Kazuyoshi Miura, who retired from international football 17 years ago, is the oldest scorer in the history of the Japanese domestic league after breaking his own record last year at the age of 49.
He started his career with Santos in Brazil in 1986, and had brief spells in Europe with Genoa and Dinamo Zagreb in 1990s.
