A North Carolina woman, Glenda Blackwell, who never believed lottery tickets are real and called them a waste of time and money, has now won $1m.
She said that her husband asked her to buy two powerball tickets from a Quik Mart but she bought a $10 scratch-off ticket instead.
According to her, she was trying to show her husband that no one ever wins, and buying tickets is a total waste of money, but now she is taking back her words and enjoying every bit of the money.
The 57-year-old lady says she is going to use the $415,000 lump sum after taxes to buy a home and pay for her granddaughter’s college.
