Big Brother Africa (BBA) is a Television Reality show that most Nigerians are familiar with. The show is co-produced by Endemol South Africa and has representatives from about 15 African countries. It started in 2005 and this eighth season titled ‘The Chase’ is on.
In BBA, housemates are expected to be themselves and win the favour of Africans who will in turn continually vote them to remain in the house. Every aspect of the game is shown on TV and sometimes, even the bathroom scenes are revealed thereby exposing their nudity on air.
This nudity has been a topic for discussion among Nigerians and even some Africans on social networks. In as much as people want to win the ultimate price of 300,000 US dollar for this season, they are being skeptical about exposing their body.
NET decided to go to the street and ask Nigerians their views on going for the reality show.

Comment: Hmm, I don’t think I can but come to think of it, 300,000 dollar is a lot of money. My dear, some things are not worth it, so my answer is No. I can’t allow people decide my fate. Life is more than that; I have missed a lot of things in the past because of money mentality.

Comment: Yes, definitely, I will go for the show if I have the opportunity. I will do that for the money- 300,000 US dollar and also the fame. I don’t mind the exposure at all. I don’t think there is any big deal about it.

Comment: I am a shy person, even if I go there, I will wear trouser everyday. But because I know the camera is everywhere even in the bathroom, I can’t go for it.

Comment: No, I can’t because my body is worth more than the price money. Above all, the Lord who created me won’t like that. One day, the money will finish or if one invests and the business crumbles, what happens. The money will be spent but the stigma remains so I can’t trade my nudity for money.

Comment: I can’t let Africa see my body. There are so many other ways of making money. I would love to go. It is a difficult offer to turn down but I also like my privacy

Comment: Never

Comment: Not minding the huge sum of money involved, I will not because I have got my dignity and image to protect. Money is not everything.

Comment: If I have the chance I will. There is no big deal with the exposure

Comment: Yes, I can go for it not minding anything. If I have the opportunity, I will go for it

Comment: I can’t go because I don’t have the time. If I have the time, I will go. I don’t care if Africa is watching or not.

Comment: Yes, I would go for the programme. The exposure is the price for fame so I would do it. There is always a price for everything and if that is the price, there is no problem. That is like a bad part of the show but it also has its good sides. Some guys have their bath with boxers or pants so I could actually make it work for me.

Comment: I can’t go because it is nonsense they go there to do. I am not interested

Comment: For the fun and fame of it, I can but the shameful part of it kills my passion. My moral and modest life-style contrasts that. I don’t want to live a ‘noisy-celebrity life’. I also want to conceal my private life from the media.

Comment: I can’t go for it just because I don’t see anything special in it. Though it is fun to the housemates but I can’t go
Name: Mariam Antony
Comment: Big brother ko!, Big brother ni!. If I hear say I go. I can’t go for that show because it will taint my image when I want to do some other things later in life.
Name: Mike Ojuo
Comment: Since I started watching the show, it’s not everybody’s stark nakedness I have seen. Besides, I am a guy so it’s just one part of my body I really have to protect. If I have the opportunity, I will go but will try to protect the most precious part of my body
