I was at a new club on Adeola Odeku for a friend’s birthday party on Friday, and 30 minutes into the night, I remembered why television and tea were my favourite things to do on Friday nights.
10. Most times you are tired already: Apart from the Friday nights when you are really really up for it, most Fridays, you are tired and just want to lay in bed.
9. So we wear the most uncomfortable clothes we can’t afford.
8. To go places that are overhyped: What’s the new place? Yay! Let’s go so on Monday or on Twitter, we can tell our friends we went to (no free endorsements)! #OkayDotCom
7. To battle with crowds on the street: You would think the party was on the street with the people, cars and 1am traffic.
6. Crowds at the gate: Guys swearing they reserved a table, girls standing getting shoved, a tussle or two and the one or two people that can get anyone in
5. Rude bouncers: Those kind that enjoy their six hours a week of power a bit much. Pushing people around, being rude, and causing a lot of unnecessary bad blood
4. In uncomfortable heels: When we could all be wearing sneakers and flats, instead we’re in three to twelve inch heels.
3. To battle crowds in the club: For when you go in, you ask how this is possible. Twenty thousand on the street, twenty more at the gate and still a further twenty in the club????
2. Not being able to dance: Because you have these crowds, your too tight clothes with your too high heels and random men with bad breath trying to buy you a drink…
1. And then try to make it home afterwards: Through these crowds, in those outfits, a lot drunker and more tired than when you came in…
I prefer this:
Television…
Tea…
Repeat…
