By the time I graduated, I was convinced even though not a Christian then that the decadence around meant that marriages were in big trouble.
The way sex is treated as a purely physical thing today not better than sharing a bottle of soda drink is likely the logical explanation for the very dysfunctional society we live in.
Pastor Tunde Bakare once declared: ’like Church, like Country’ This is profoundly true. You may ask, why blame the Church? You may not want to accept this but God is holding the Church responsible for the rot too.
Will you condemn an Apple tree for bearing Apple fruits? The world brings forth it’s own peculiar fruits. Since the world is not in anyway truly spiritual, it does not comprehend the spiritual importance and dangers associated with sex.
Historically, Sex had always been pivotal to either peace or war in society, destiny’s have been cut short by wrong sex, homes torn apart by the wrong use of sex including denial of this privilege by a spouse and not necessarily by infidelity. Wars have been fought at times without troops realizing that the real reasons for the battle had to do with what went down in someone’s bedroom.
Why the Church does not talk more about sex baffles me or the level of hypocrisy is so high that we refuse to admit that society now uses sex as its pivot?
Somehow, the rest of the world in a very brash manner uses sex to sell everything including car tyres and send sex laden messages to us continuously. . The entertainment we are so fixated with and consume voraciously are all sexual or filled with sexual innuendos
While the Church pretends sex does not matter, it surely does and the world rapidly degenerates or not on how well sex is handled. The Internet may be seen by someone visiting our planet as the sole reason for it when you consider the volume of its explicit content.
When purpose is not established, abuse in many forms occurs with the stronger, more vocal ones bullying the rest into acceptance of their own ideas.
How then is purpose established? Because sex is universal, somehow private and so personal, a universal mandate is needed.
I have this feeling that the Evolution theory may have evolved from the mind of a man that wanted societal restrictions on the use of sex eased or removed totally.
A belief in God places a moral burden on how sex is handled, not believing in God makes everything about sex extremely grey…….No right and No wrong.
