Media personality Ebuka Obi-Uchendu has launched a podcast show, MENtality With Ebuka. At the exclusive event held in Lagos on Tuesday, October 28, he explained to NETNG journalists why a platform where men can openly express their thoughts and emotions is important at this time.
Produced by The She Tank initiative and Empire Mates Entertainment, the first season of MENtality with Ebuka is co-hosted by Banky Wellington and explores modern masculinity through open, data-informed conversations, breaking down barriers around identity, vulnerability, and purpose with guests from all walks of life.
“Men who don’t see vulnerability as part of masculinity, they think it’s weakness, and a platform like this is hopefully going to help people understand that being a man, there’s no one way to be a man,” Ebuka told Netng.
“Vulnerability is okay, having conversations with your guy is okay, telling your guy ‘I love you’ is not a bad thing. So it’s more just about opening up the conversation about what it means to be a man, and hopefully that’s something to take away from it.”
Reflecting on his personal support system, Ebuka expressed gratitude for the men who have stood by him through his journey.
More than just a podcast, MENtality is a cultural conversation about identity, growth, and understanding. It challenges stereotypes, promotes openness, and helps men and women connect through honest dialogue. Supported by The She Tank, founded by Blessing Omakwu, the platform aims to spark balanced conversations and amplify voices driving positive change.
The event gathered friends and supporters of Ebuka Obi-Uchendu and Banky W, along with industry figures, creatives, and changemakers. Notable guests included Blessing Omakwu (founder of The She Tank and executive producer), media personalities Toolz Oniru-Demuren and Gbemi Olateru-Olagbegi, co-hosts of the OffAir, former BBNaija housemates Hermes, Adekunle Olopade, and AMVCA-winner, Tobi Bakre to name a few.
