It’s that time of year again: Forbes has officially announced the highest-earning women in music for 2016, and the results aren’t just as surprising to us.
Measured from June 2015 to June 2016, these major hitters in music topped the list thanks to world tours, endorsement deals, and — at least for Adele — actual album sales.

Basically, these ladies know how to hustle and are talented AF.

10. Celine Dion – ($27m)
Much of the earnings have come from her gig in Las Vegas where she performs regularly at the Colosseum in Caesars Palace.
9. Shania Twain – ($27.5m)
Shania ranks as the highest paid female country singer and similarly to Celine Dion, has an ongoing gig in Las Vegas.
8. Britney Spears – ($30.5m)
Britney scored a $35m deal to remain with Planet Hollywood, along with a releasing another fragrance of hers through Elizabeth Arden.

7. Jennifer Lopez – ($39.5m)
Like Celine Dion and Shania Twain, J Lo has something going in Las Vegas along with earning from her line of fragrance as well as from L’Oreal.
6. Katy Perry – ($41m)
The ‘Roar’ singer’s earnings come largely from part of her Prismatic world tour along with a number of endorsement deals.
5. Beyonce – ($54m)
Queen Bey settles in at number five this year courtesy of her album, Lemonade as well as some earnings from her Formation world tour.

4. Rihanna – ($75m)
Riri remains a regular face at the top of the charts. Not to mention lucrative endorsements with a number of global brands that have done great for her earnings.
3. Madonna – ($76.5m)
Material Girl has seen her earnings come from the road courtesy Rebel Heart tour along with the ones from clothing and perfume lines.
2. Adele – ($80.5m)
The British songstress has earned a ton of money from the last album, 25 as well as the accompanying world tour.
1. Taylor Swift – ($170m)
Adele’s earnings are a hill to the mountain of money Tay Tay has earned in the period under review, with her 1989 tour shattering North American records, just as a number of endorsements serve as lucrative toppings to a rich 2016 for the singer.
