The long awaited launch of ‘Africa’s first global black entertainment network on DSTV’ EbonyLife TV was held on Sunday June 30 at the Eko Hotel and Suites Victoria Island Lagos.
The event which was graced by the CEO and Editor-in-Chief of business magazine Forbes, Steve Forbes, also hosted top Nigerian Celebs from the entertainment, business and broadcast industries.
Guests included Cross River state Governor Liyel Imoke, Minister of Trade and investment Olusegun Aganga, and former Cross River Governor Donald Duke. Others include celebrities from the entertainment industry Genevieve Nnaji, Rita Dominic, Uche Jumbo, Kate Henshaw, Omoni Oboli, 2face Idibia, M.I, Nikki Laoye, Onyeka Onwenu, King Sunny Ade, Banky W, Tiwa Savage, Wizkid, Lynxx, D’banj, Tosyn Bucknor, Toolz, amongst others.
The president was represented by Minister for information Labaran Maku.
Hosted by Dare Art Alade and Dolapo Oni, performances came from Nikki Laoye who delivered the national anthem, Zaina who sang the EL theme song, Tiwa Savage and Banky W who shared a set with KSA and Onyeka Onwenu, Ebenezer Obey who performed alongside M. I and Wizkid who performed with Juju legend KSA.
EbonyLife TV went live on DSTV 165 at midnight July 1, 2013.
