The appointment of Danjuma Wurim Dadu as the managing director of the Nigerian Film Corporation (NFC) in June 2013 by the Goodluck Jonathan administration was perceived by movie industry experts as a wrong move.
In December 2015, respected Nigerian journalist, Victor Akande in a piece wrote, ‘the choice of Danjuma Dadu, a building engineer, as head of the Nigerian Film Corporation (NFC) is one of the greatest errors of the erstwhile administration. Without fear of contradiction, Dadu’s tenure as managing director of the apex film agency is witnessing the worst retrogression in the history of the Corporation evidences abound’.
With more criticisms of Dadu’s tenure flowing in, staff of the Nigerian Film Corporation NFC in Jos, Plateau State yesterday June 19, 2016 staged a peaceful protest demanding his resignation.
The protest also continued on social media with comments such as these;
