After the release of his debut album, Super Sun, Nigerian singer, Emmanuel Bezhiwa Idakula, known as Bez is back with the break out 1st single off his new album.
The new song, titled ‘There’s A Fire’ marks Bez’s return after a while showcasing his intentions through sounds bathed in African rhythms and syncopation. The song is an evolution of the sound that Bez’s fans all over the world have come to know and love.
The music is beautiful, creative possesses authentic African groove while fusing a large horn section, call and response and a long coda reminiscent of the iconic Fela Anikulapo Kuti compositions.
Bez has spent the past year recording in studios in New York, Houston, Lagos, and even went to his northern Nigerian village of Karu in Nasarawa State to record with traditional musicians to improve his sound even more.
The track features phenomenal bassist and recording artist, Michael Olatuja. Houston, Texas-based Marcie Chapa, an extraordinary percussionist who currently plays in ‘Suga Mama’, Beyonce’s all-female band.
Tying the sound of the new single, co-written by Bez and X3M Music act, Simi all together is celebrated producer, Cobhams Asuquo.
