Nigerian rapper Babalola Falemi, aka Sauce Kid, has announced he’s changing his stage name.
On Friday, July 20, 2012 via social network Twitter, the rapper said he now wants to be addressed as Sinzu SMG.
‘Officially dropped the alias ‘Sauce Kid’ he tweeted. He has since changed his twitter handle from @oluwasaucekibaba to @SinzuSMG.
In similar fashion, pop star Wizkid has also hinted at a name change. ‘Wiz Dropping the kid!..’ @Wizkidayo tweeted. A fan approved by tweeting back at Wizzy ‘Drop it like it’s hot!’
Wizzy is currently on tour in North America, while Sinzu is promoting his new single with Timaya titled ‘L.O.K.O‘
While the reason behind Sauce’s rebranding remains uncertain, Wizkid, we’re told, is adjusting his brand to suit his new image as a grown music maker. ‘He wants people to see he has transformed from boy to man’, one source tells us.
