Rapper, AKA sees a bit of himself in comedian and host of 'The Daily Show' Trevor Noah

Good Morning South Africa 🇿🇦 As you you start your day I want to tell you a story about dreams. Dreams are what make us get up in the morning, they keep the fire burning. In our country, too often are people are ridiculed for the size of their dreams. The courage that it takes, the belief in yourself to move to the other side of the world and leave your comfort zone requires a lot of guts and bravery. I see a lot of similarities in Trevor and myself. While we are on different paths and in different lanes, myself, much like the rest of this continent’s great talents, we are on a mission to change the way the WORLD sees us. There has never been a better time to be AFRICAN. It was really cool seeing first hand how big of a deal he had become in the states(the guy has ads in the subway, on the top of cabs 🚖 even!). It was a bit surreal watching it LIVE because I’ve been a big fan of the Daily Show for years(even now I watch it, see him as the host and have to keep reminding myself it’s not a show on Mnet or something). I’ve known him for a while and besides him being in a bit of a rush(he’s a busy guy now) … He still took the time to make sure I was well taken care of and made sure we linked up after the show …. Rapper, AKA was in Dallas, Texas, over the weekend, when he won two major awards at the second annual African Muzik Magazine Awards (AFRIMMA.)

Being the only South African nominated, he snagged the award for best Southern African male artist and a second one for his hit track ‘All Eyes on Me’, a track he collaborated on with Burna Boy, Da L.E.S and JR.

Before returning to his base in SA, he met Comedian Trevor Noah in New York and watched The Daily Show filmed live.

In a lengthy Instagram post, AKA praised Noah’s success in the US, saying it was surreal to see how popular he was.
