As the entertainment industry gets bigger and wider by the day with multi-platinum records being sold, laudable videos and other groundbreaking feats, it has become pretty hard for upcoming artistes to break into that circle.
Well, good times are here as ‘One Mic Naija’ holds this April. In an aim to discover and promote good music from upcoming artistes, One Mic Naija creates a platform for emerging acts to take the stage and ‘do what they love in front of a wide range of audiences’. Most of the artistes that will be performing have found it uneasy as their songs have gotten little or no airplay even though they are relatively known as their careers are still forming
With over 10 shows already held in the UK, One Mic Najia will try to establish the same reputation it has gained outside the country with its second edition here in Nigeria. The first edition, which was held in 2010, featured Eva, Mobie and Willy Bang.
This edition will feature performances from Sammy, 19th Street, Lancky C, Clay, Akas and a guest performance from Pope. Hosts for the day will be rappers Kel and Kunle Bello.
The event will hold on Sunday, April 24, 2011 at Browns’ Café G.R.A, Ikeja, Lagos at 4pm.
One Mic Naija is a project organized by We Plug G.O.O.D Music – a music blog aimed at promoting good music from new and upcoming artistes globally but primarily in the UK, US & West Africa.
