Drake has eventually hit the much desired number one spot on the Billboard’s Hot 100 chart, after only previously appearing on the spot as a featured artiste.
The Canadian rapper has now achieved that with his Wizkid and Kyla assisted single, ‘One Dance’.
The single’s sales surged following the release of Drizzy’s fourth studio album, VIEWS, bringing in 159,595 units of sales after sitting at number five last week.

Drake, who had appeared on the number one spot courtesy of his features on Rihanna‘s ‘Work’ and ‘What’s My Name’, had looked forward to the honour as a main artiste with the release of his hugely successful single, ‘Hotline Bling’ six months ago.
‘I spend my life trying to make waves for the city I am from. No accolades really matter to me other than the fact that I have never had a billboard number one. If I get my first number one during the month of October it will be the biggest moment of my career to date (in my mind) and if you are looking for me on that particular evening I will be passed out in the water slide that connects to our pool. I love you and thank you for these memories. I always love the moment right before it happens more than when it actually happens. So thank you…even if it doesn’t,’ he had said upon the release of the song in October.
