Luxury Hair is one of the biggest fashion accessories a woman can have. But there is no doubt that a very good one leaves a sizable dent in one’s pocket, yet a majority of women are willing to invest in it. Is it a very smart decision? The Chief Executive Officer of luxury hair brand, ‘Hair We Are’, Olanike Idowu thinks so.
According to Idowu, it makes more financial sense to invest in one very good hair that will last a very long while than to spend money buying about five different ones that you have to replace every couple of weeks or months in the best-case scenario. And women are coming to this realization. “Women realize they can’t continue buying hair every now and then. It actually pays better, in the long run, to invest in one that will last forever,” she said.
With the economic recession that followed the global pandemic, one would think that the luxury hair industry would have taken a major hit but alas, business is still booming. Speaking on why this is the case, Idowu said, “Yes, there is a recession but women always want to look good and wear good hair no matter what is going on.”
Although they are expensive, their longevity outweighs the initial cost. Good quality hair can be used over the course of three years if maintained properly. Idowu says more women are also joining the train because they’ve had their fair share of the bad hair experience. “If you’ve bought bad hair and seen someone else who has great hair, you’d understand that there is a major difference,” she said.
Idowu runs the popular Nigerian-based luxury hair brand, ‘Hair We Are’.
