President Goodluck Jonathan has reportedly reversed the change of name of the University of Lagos after renaming the school ‘Moshood Abiola University’ last year Democracy day, May 29, 2012 to honour the late democrat Moshood Abiola.
The Chairman, Governing Council of University of Lagos, Professor Jerry Gana disclosed this in Abuja during his inauguration alongside three others by the Minister of Education, Professor Ruqayyatu Rufai.
The name changed was received negatively by students, staff and the general public. Public demonstrations and lawsuits subsequently followed.
