This New Music Friday has a star-studded lineup of mainstream acts on the release radar, as Gunna releases his latest album titled The Last Wun. Three of Nigeria’s biggest and most influential acts in Wizkid, Burna Boy, and Asake, are featured on the album, bringing that unique African flavor to the project.
The 25-track body of work also boasts guest verses from Offset and Nechie, further widening its international appeal. On the local front, Mavo returns with a remix of his viral hit single “Escaladizzy II,” calling on Zlatan, Ayra Starr, and Shallipopi to revamp and update the original with fresh energy.
Elsewhere, in the Nigerian music space, Fola releases his second single of the year titled “You,” a song that continues to highlight his range and lyrical sensitivity. In another released highlight, Victony collaborates with veteran street-hop act Terry G on the explosive single “Tanko.”
Gunna ft Burna Boy – WGFT
The song “WGFT” by Gunna and Burna Boy is an acronym for “We Getting Fucked Tonight.” The song combines Gunna’s melodic trap flow and Burna Boy’s lush Afrobeats cadence, resulting in a smooth, genre-bending anthem.
The track is the 9th song of Gunna’s 2025 album ‘The Last Wun’. The beat is laid-back but hypnotic, with rich synths and a subtle percussive bounce that lets both artists float across easily. The song’s chorus repeats the line “We gettin’ fucked tonight” multiple times, offering a provocative hook that encapsulates the track’s theme of unapologetic pleasure.
Gunna ft Wizkid – Forever Be Mine
Gunna also worked with Wizkid for the song “Forever Be Mine,” which is the tenth song on ‘The Last Wun‘ album. This enchanting single is another solid addition to Gunna’s catalog and boasts a strong feature from Wizkid, who joins the song with presence and poise.
The track represents Wizkid’s eighth featured release of 2025, which further cements his place in what seems as his “feature era.” Gunna’s melodic delivery and unique voice complement Wizkid’s smooth delivery seamlessly, and the production of the song, provided by Doc Maestro, Evergrn, Pi Polish, Sim, and Turbo.
Gunna ft Asake – Satisfaction
The song “Satisfaction,” which is the sixteenth song on Gunna’s ‘The Last Wun‘, highlights Gunna’s range as he collaborates once again with Nigerian sensation Asake. It’s the second time that the two artists have worked together, having also appeared together on Sarz’s track “Happiness.”
The production on “Satisfaction” is handled by Aviator Keyyz, Turbo, and Yung Talent, who provide a smooth integration of beats and melody. The song throbs with swagger, rhythm, and heat, and it’s clear that it’s a genre-bending anthem.
The production immediately creates a vibey atmosphere full of log drums, layered keys, and the distinctive bounce that’s become a hallmark of Asake’s sound. Gunna glides over the beat effortlessly, dropping relaxed but flex-heavy bars, while Asake adds a lively, spiritual chaos that injects the song with renewed energy. It’s a forward-thinking collaboration that combines trap and Afrobeats, Atlanta and Lagos, in a manner that feels both organic and inevitable.
Mavo ft Zlatan, Shallipopi, Ayra Starr – Escaladizzy II
This week, Mavo returns with a powerful remix titled “Escaladizzy II,” following his initial street anthem. He features Zlatan, Shallipopi, and Ayra Starr to further enrich the song. The song, which dropped in 2025, has excellent production from 2Frosh and Producer X, making it catchy and detailed. The song blends Mavo’s raw street flavor with Zlatan’s hard street-hop, Shallipopi’s individuality, and Ayra Starr’s smooth vocals.
Fola – You
Fola has dropped his new single “You,” a heartfelt and melodic song that indicates his development in the Nigerian music industry. Not much is known about the song, but it builds on the emotional storytelling Fola has become popular for, coming after his debut EP What a Feeling and previous collaborations with Kizz Daniel. “
Victony ft Terry G – Tanko
Victony makes a big impact with the release of “Tanko,” a lively collaboration with the unique and legendary Terry G. This song mixes modern Afrobeats with the raw energy of street-hop, creating a sound that feels both familiar and new. The track has strong drums, unpredictable adlibs, and bold lyrics, highlighting the surprising yet strong connection between Victony’s polished style and Terry G’s wildness.
