Nollywood actor Okiki Adesina, widely known to fans as Janmole, who died after a tragic car accident.
The heartbreaking news was confirmed by Bolaji ‘Mr Latin’ Amusan, president of the Theatre Arts and Motion Pictures Practitioners Association of Nigeria (TAMPAN), in a solemn Instagram post that has since drawn an outpouring of grief from across the entertainment community.
According to Mr Latin, the actor succumbed to injuries sustained in the crash, bringing an untimely end to a career that had endeared him to many, particularly within the Yoruba film scene. In his tribute, he prayed for the peaceful repose of Adeshina’s soul and asked God to grant strength and comfort to his family, friends, and colleagues during this difficult time.
“May the soul of our departed colleague, Adesina Okiki Janmole, who tragically lost his life in an accident, rest in perfect peace,” he wrote. “May God grant his family, friends, and colleagues the strength and comfort to bear this irreparable loss. He will be greatly missed.”
As news of his passing spread, fans and fellow actors flooded social media with condolence messages, sharing memories and expressing disbelief over the sudden loss.
Among those who paid tribute was actor Jomiloju Olunbe, who recounted a poignant final moment they shared on set. He recalled how Adeshina had jokingly insisted on appearing in his video, a lighthearted exchange that has now become a painful last memory.
“I never knew it would be the last time on set with him,” Olunbe wrote, reflecting on the actor’s humor and vibrant spirit. “What a life. Rest in peace, Okiki Adeshina.”
Adeshina was celebrated for his compelling performances in Yoruba-language films, earning recognition for roles in movies such as Agunbaniro, Ìyàwó Asante, and Ọgbọ́n Inu. In recent times, he had also embraced digital platforms, building a growing audience on TikTok where his creativity and charisma attracted thousands of followers.
