Barely three weeks after her eviction from the on-going Nigerian Idol reality TV show, Kwara state born Tonii has released two new singles which might very well gain her a massive audience.
Tonii, a neo-soul/pop singer who had a couple of stellar performances on the show before her premature exit, is using the opportunity of the buzzed generated around her to jump start her music career which she is doing quite well at. With rumours of Chocolate City signing her unto the label, everything seems to be falling in place for the Microbiology degree holder.
Tonii proves her worth on ‘Iwo ni mabalo‘ and ‘I rule‘. The former being a lovely serenade, has Tonii’s soothing voice blend with the piano notes as the trumpets guide the composition to a near-perfect stage.
‘I rule‘, an inspirational number, strikes hard with an up-tempo, conga-laced beat. However, Tonii’s powerful voice brings the song to life as the message behind it fuels inspiration.
