Pope Francis has added his voice to the gale of condemnations that have trailed the deadly attack on a mosque in northern Nigeria.
On Friday, November 28, 2014, about 120 people were killed while 270 others were reported to have sustained different degrees of injury when two suicide bombers blew themselves up during the J’umaat prayers on Friday at the Central Mosque in Kano.
On the final day of the Pope’s trip to Turkey, he commented on the incident on Sunday, November 30, 2014, condemning the attack which he described as an ‘extremely serious sin against God.’
Born Jorge Mario Bergoglio, the Argentina national is the current Pope of the Catholic Church, the first from his native Americas.
