Following reports that Nigerian Designer, Tolu Bally and her mother were nearly kidnapped and manhandled by an Uber Driver during the week, NET reached out to the designer who has now revealed that she is ready to drag the transport Company to Court.
In an exclusive interview with NET, Ms Bally further stated that she is considering taking legal action against the ridesharing company, Uber as she hasn’t gotten any lead from the company after one of their drivers attempted to kidnap and harm her mother.
According to her, her brother was communicating with Uber via Twitter but they were not forthcoming. After police got involved, the company sent an address for the driver which they later found out was a fake address. The company has not gotten back to neither the designer nor her brother since this discovery was made.

Tolu, however, revealed that she’s found the man who captured her mother. Here’s what she said:
‘We have found out his pictures now. He is different from the guy on the app. We showed it to the eyewitnesses that were around to confirm that he’s the same person because by the time I had got to the scene, he had fled.’
Tolu let us know that she is considering taking legal action against Uber and not the driver, because ‘they should be able to vet their drivers before employing them’. The top designer also confided in NET saying that she feels they are responding in a slow manner because the victim, her mother, is an old woman.
‘There’s no lead from them basically. I decided to post something after I realized they were not taking the issue seriously. It’s an elderly woman but If it had been a young woman they would have attended to it.’
Tolu’s mother is currently recovering from the incident.
