The second edition of Nigerian Entertainment Conference holds on April 23, 2014; this year proves to be more exciting with line-up of profound speakers and panellists.
Current Director General of the Nigerian Broadcasting Commission (NBC) Emeka Mba has been confirmed as a keynote speaker at the Nigerian Entertainment Conference 2014. Mba, who also served as a DG of the National Film and Video Censors Board (NFVCB) for seven years, will deliver a Nollywood paper titled: The Desired Future.
Mba will be joined on the Nollywood panel by filmmaker and writer, Chris Ihidero; Iroko Partners founder, Jason Njoku; actress Uche Jombo and founder of Africa Movie Academy Awards (AMAA), Peace Anyiam-Osigwe.
Some other additions to the conference include pop superstar Dr SID, who joins renowned writer Toni Kan; former Saturday Independent editor, Olumide Iyanda; CEO of Nigezie, Femi ‘Kwame’ Aderibigbe and popular radio personality, Yaw on the media panel to discuss the topic: ‘Whose content is it anyway?’
African Pop Icon 2face Idibia will also deliver a music keynote on the topic: ‘Slaying The collective rights monster‘, after which an eminent panel of music experts will gather to discuss: ‘Collective rights management’.
The music panel will include Chairman of COSON, Tony Okoroji; former DG, Nigerian Copyright Commission, Adebambo Adewopo; Broadcaster and showbiz guru, Olisa Adibua and entertainment consultant, Edi Lawani.
Other new additions to the conference include CEO of Spinlet, Nkiru Balonwu; Sam Onyemelukwe of Trace TV; IT experts Femi Longe (of CC Hub) and Seyi Taylor (of Tech Cabal), and Storm 360 Chairman Obi Asika.
The Nigerian Entertainment conference 2014 which is themed ‘Discovering pathways to our future‘, with sessions on Music, Nollywood, Media, IT, Social Responsibility and Business, holds in Lagos, at Eko Hotels.
Iconic actress and social crusader Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde will deliver a special social responsibility keynote on the topic: ‘Why we should care’.
There will also be exhibitions from corporate organisations and entertainment companies, as well as demos and networking.
Attendance to Nigerian Entertainment Conference is free, but participants must pre-register on the conference website (nec.ng).
NEC is organised by NET Newspaper LTD, with support from Hip TV, Beat FM, Top Radio, AV Edge, F316, ID Africa, Sodium Group, and several other organisations committed to the development of the Nigerian creative and entertainment industry.
