Nigerian singer Lara George has cried out about the percentage cuts Nigerian artistes get after distribution of their music. The singer cried out during the Business Session of the ongoing Nigerian Entertainment Conference holding presently at the Eko Hotels and Suites.
‘I spend months in the studio record, you take my music and distribute it whatever way you do and take 80 per cent of the profits. The middle man between will take another 50 per cent from the remaining 20 per cent and leave me with almost nothing. That has top stop, we need a law that will stipulate the percentages these middle men get,’ the singer revealed during the business sessions.
Panelist on the Business sessions which was themed ‘Solving the Distribution Problem Once and For All’ also had a few words during session.
Top movie marketer and one of the panelists of the session Aina Kusoro during his short speech bemoaned the nature of the Nigerian entertainment industry. ‘What we all read in Post Graduate does not work here in Nigeria,’ he said.

The panelists along with the Speaker, Professor Pat Utomi all deliberated on ways to curb piracy in Nigeria and have smooth and profitable distribution channels for the entertainment industry.
