While in the jungle during season 12 of Gulder Ultimate Search, Esitima was known for finding three boomerangs while other contestants struggled to find one. She told Netng that this is due to her ability to pay attention and observe her surroundings well.
Esitima was one of four ladies who made it into Gulder Ultimate Search out of 20,000 applicants, and she attributes her selection to her resilience.
“I love to swim, and seeing that swimming was one of the requirements gave me the confidence to try for the show. I saw how seemingly stronger ladies and men were asked to go home because they could not swim.”
Esitima was a formidable force in the jungle, always paying close attention to instructions from the taskmaster and host. She performed excellently until the game of arrows, where she failed to hit the bull’s eye. She still hasn’t learnt to shoot arrows since then.
“I told myself after I was asked to leave the jungle that I would go and learn how to do so. However, I have not learnt it still. If you ask me to do it all over again, I would still miss it.”
Esitima said she was still rooting for the remaining ladies despite her eviction.
“After I was asked to leave, I told the other ladies not to come home and to remain in the jungle for as long as possible. I wanted a woman to win, but it did not happen as I wanted.”
Esitima is grateful for the opportunity provided by Gulder Ultimate Search. She, however, misses nothing as the regimental life there is an experience she doesn’t want to repeat.
“If the selection process was tough, the jungle was tougher; the food, water, insects, animals, I don’t miss anything.”
Esitima hopes to return to school and venture into business and acting. To her, Gulder Ultimate Search has already provided a great platform to help kickstart her life. She hopes to be successful in her ventures in five years.
