Former Miss Universe Kenya, Racheal Marete has announced the release of her new single, ‘Kama Wewe’ – a song that ‘penetrates the human soul’.
Produced by Ryan Dennisen, ‘Kama Wewe’ tells the story of African colonialism. It portrays Africa as a little child with big dreams and visions which were forcefully seized by colonialists. Marete urges Africa to rise and fight for her rights for she is now an adult.
Even without an understanding of the language used-Swahili, the listener is able to feel the rhythm of the song.
The 2005 Miss Universe Kenya is presently a host at Transit TV, Los Angeles. Her debut music ‘Kelekele’ was released in January, 2013 and directed by A. Macharia Record.
