Kesha broke down in tears when she performed Lady Gaga‘s song about sexual assault, ‘Til It Happens To You’, on Saturday May 7 at an event honouring the track’s co-writer Diane Warren.
The ‘Tik Tok’ hitmaker – who, earlier this year, was denied release from her recording contract with Dr. Luke, despite claiming she had been abused by the producer – dedicated her appearance at the Humane Society’s Los Angeles Gala to all victims of abuse and couldn’t keep her emotions in check throughout her appearance.

After singing the Oscar-nominated song, which featured in ‘The Hunting Ground’ – a documentary about sexual assault, the 29-year-old star could be seen struggling for breath as she wept while hugging Diane.
