It’s been three days of continuous update on the BEAT FM mishap involving broadcasting mogul Olisa Adibua and a news editor at the station – Adewunmi Oyekanmi.
In what may become the last scene of the gory episode, the ‘accused’ – Olisa, has broken his silence and issued an apologetic public statement to the assaulted, his colleagues and the public.
This statement (published below) is the third in the series, with a first and second originating from Adewunmi’s official e-mail address and the BEAT FM management respectively.
Adewunmi had been allegedly battered by Olisa in the wee hours of Thursday, September 8, 2011, after been caught sleeping on a couch in the premises of the Lagos office. The ‘victim’ was sent to the hospital with N15,000 while Olisa allegedly remained unapologetic even though he was asked to begin a 4-week suspension by the management.
Colleagues, members of the media and the general public have been generally peeved at the treatment, condemning Olisa’s actions, while clamouring for justice for Adewunmi. The public, as voiced on various sites, were more irked by Olisa’s silence and perceived bully, and even suggested that Adewunmi’s ‘statement’ was forced.
With Olisa’s ‘heartfelt apology’, it is hoped that the public is appeased and that this serves as a lesson in corporate assault.

You are very stupid Olisa. You are apologizing because it is known now to the world. After all what do you have to loose?! You are top rich and connected you are invincible. I can only pray to God to help d less privileged ones in my beloved country Nigeria. Try that in England and see if you will ever have a job again. And if you are God we are all screwed. To say that is an apology,pls that is something ur lil kid would say when catch him stealing meat from the soup.it’s sad to say that my country gives props to people like u.but if that is the case then, it won’t be harmful to say that dude..I’d be on the lookout for u and pls rest assured that ur family ain’t safe also
Let’s thank God he’s realized his mistake…..Truly,it wasn’t right to have beaten up a colleague but he has shown a sign of remorse…he should just try to foot wunmi’s bill and apologize seriously to him…
