This is the last week of Big Brother Naija Lockdown. While we are sad to say goodbye to these amazing housemates we’ve come to love, we are more than excited to see who will win and take home the N85 million grand prize.
Right now, the battle for the BBNaija Season 5 winner title is between Laycon, Dorathy, Nengi, and our last ship standing – ‘Veo’, made up of Vee and Neo. The battle is fierce right now, and the fans are voting through all the channels possible and campaigning radically. But how did we get here?
On Sunday, July 19, 2020, Ebuka introduced us to twenty Lockdown housemates who were in isolation for two weeks prior. We got to fall in love with every one of them till we had to say goodbye to 15 housemates and now left with the top five.
We first said goodbye to the boss lady, Ka3na and the lover-girl, Lilo. Then we had to bid farewell to macho man Eric and everyone’s favourite Igbo brother, Tochi. Then Biggie tried to calm us down with two weeks of single evictions where we said goodbye to the sweet Kaisha and the resident dance coach, Praise. We should have known we were being set up for a bigger heartbreak when we had two weeks of single evictions. But we never learn, do we?
What came next was the first and only triple eviction where we said goodbye to three of our ‘faves’ in one night. Social media was ‘shook’, and we don’t blame them. We had to say goodbye to our very own ‘Lord Baelish’, nobody saw Brighto leaving that quick. Then the life of the party, Tolanibaj followed him, and she left with one of her closest friends in the house, Wathoni.
Perhaps the biggest and most controversial moment in the house came the Sunday we said goodbye to Lucy. The fans also had to bid farewell to a housemate everyone was sure already had a ticket to the finals – Erica. She was a fan favourite, but multiple infringements on house rules marked the end to her time in Biggie’s house. Big Brother disqualified her, and while most people saw it coming after her big blowout the night before, many people were still shocked. But the show went on.
The very next week, Prince Nelson and billionaire son, Kiddwaya were out in one fell swoop of Biggie’s eviction axe. Then just this Sunday, TrikyTee with the nine lives finally succumbed to eviction death and left with the Ultimate Light Skin lover boy – Ozo. And here we are, five amazing housemates who each have a chance to walk away with N30 million naira cash prize and N55 million naira worth of prizes that include a two-bedroom flat and a brand new SUV.
The journey to the final was not easy, they were all up for possible evictions at different points in the games. The fans thankfully pulled through for them. Each of them had to battle for the role of ‘Head of House’, and most of them like Laycon never came close. Neo, who made it very close a few times, always lost by a little difference. Nengi is the only one in the final who had a chance to be head of house twice!
All five of them, Dorathy, Laycon, Nengi, Neo and Vee have the fans to thank for getting them to this point. They have each shown their appreciation, as much as they can without getting into trouble. But the game is not over until Biggie says it is. They need you to keep pulling through for them until one of them (hopefully your favourite) walks away with the ultimate prize. Who it’s going to be is totally up to you. The question now is – ‘are you up to the task?’
Remember you can help your favourite housemate win the grand prize by voting for him/her. Voting is still open across all platforms and closes at 10:00 pm tonight.
