Nigeria’s most prestigious music award that celebrates excellence in the Nigerian music industry returned for its 14th year on February 21, 2021. It celebrated music released between July 2019 to September 2020. Fireboy had an excellent night at the ceremony.

He received eight nominations in December and took home five out of those nominations in highly respected categories. He won the ‘Album of the Year’, ‘Headies Revelation’, ‘Best Pop Album’, ‘Best R&B Album’, and ‘Best R&B Single’. The artiste thanked his God, fans, friends, and family in his various speeches.
Receiving his award for album of the year – his last for the night, he said, “Thank you so much, everyone. Big love to the legends. God bless you, everyone. This win is a huge honour for me. God bless and thank you, Headies!”
This year is Fireboy’s first time winning at the Headies, and he’s made an impressive debut. He’s also one of few stars who can claim to have taken home a similar number of awards in one night at the Headies. Only Wande Coal and P-Square have achieved a similar feat.
The 25-year-old had to face big stars like Burna Boy, Davido, Mayorkun, Tiwa Savage, Adekunle Gold, Wizkid, and more in the different categories he received nominations.
Congratulations to Fireboy. We can’t wait to see where his music career takes him after this brilliant win.
