‘Made in Lagos: Deluxe Edition by Wizkid has won the album of the year at the 2022 edition of the Headies award.
The 15th edition of the Nigerian music awards took place at Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre in Atlanta in Georgia.
The album which received critical reviews since its release in 2021 saw Canadian singer, Justin Bieber featured in it.
‘Essence’, one of the songs from the album, has continued to break records across the world. It is the first Nigerian song to chart on the Billboard Hot 100 and the Billboard Global 200.
It was the fourth award won by Wizkid for the night. After winning best R&B, song of the year and best collaboration.
Made in Lagos won ahead of “9: Esan” by Brymo, “19 & Dangerous” by Ayra Starr, “Carpe Diem” by Olamide, “Legacy +” by Femi Kuti & Made Kuti and “Yabasi” by Basketmouth.
