Gucci was convicted on a firearms charge after he was found illegally in possession of a loaded weapon in September 2013.
He will be serving two years and four months if all goes well, as he has already served 11 months in jail.
Gucci has reportedly requested to be transferred to a West Coast prison in order to cut ties with negative Atlanta influences, as well as drug rehab during his prison stay.
However, the rapper had a dedicated team that released few projects on his behalf.
