University of Lagos (UNILAG) students were given till 10am today to vacate the campus.
The ‘go home’ directive came after series of student protests in recent time. The most recent demonstration was a two-day protest over water and power failure in the school.
We gathered UNILAG authorities have enlisted the help of the police to come evict the students.
There are also fears the school will again disband its student union body which was just reinstated after a lengthy ban.
Most UNILAG students are now packing their luggage and heading home. The school will remain closed until further notice.
Students will also have to sign an undertaking not to protest before they’re allowed back in, we were told.
