Situation report – Girls (and some guys) fainting
On Saturday, December 1, 2012, Psquare performed at a concert held at the Independence Square in Accra, Ghana, with over 40,000 people reportedly in attendance.
The concert was in celebration of the launch of the new bottle design of Malta Guinness. Some of the ladies literally swooned as the twins performed and thrilled the crowd.
Psquare arrived in Accra a few days before the concert took place, took time to visit radio stations and also received an award at the 4Syte Music Video Awards.
Performing with an 11-man band, they gave a performance which lasted three straight hours, belting out some of their hottest tunes, the most popular being ‘Chop my money.’
When the crowd became too animated, they tried to calm them down, but it was too late for some female fans that couldn’t contain their emotions and began fainting.
Psquare then halted the show to ensure that the fainting fans were given medical help, after which the show went on.
A few days later Peter Okoye wrote on his Instagram as he posted the above photo ‘Anytime we perform on stage and see dem fainting.. It scares da sh*t out of me.. But I still luv u all‘.
Other performers at the show include popular rapper Sarkodie and dancehall act Samini, who replaced pop duo R2Bees after they pulled out of the show due to monetary issues.
