A Ghanaian lady identified as Janatil Firdawl Yakubu became a widow the same day she became a bride, as her groom died in an auto crash on their way to the wedding reception. The Islamic wedding took place on Sunday morning, September 30, 2018.
According to reports of the incident seen online, guests were expected to converge at a hotel for the reception to start. Friends and family were already gathered, awaiting the arrival of the newlywed couple.
The groom and his friends were said to have proceeded there in a convoy but things went awry when a vehicle attempting to overtake another ran into the wedding procession.
The groom suffered a major injury in the incident and was pronounced dead upon arrival at Legon Hospital while the wife was said to be still on admission at the time of filing this report.
