The football game between Germany and the Netherlands ended before it began.
Officials called off the high profile friendly match after an ambulance packed full of explosives was discovered parked outside the German national stadium where the game would have taken place.
Reports say the explosives-laden vehicle may be a truck disguised as an ambulance to full stadium security.
Fans were waiting to get inside Hannover stadium only for the officials to cancel the game.
Police chief Volker Kluwe told German public broadcaster NDR they received a threat there would be ‘detonation of explosives in the stadium.’
He says the ‘key warning reached us about 15 minutes before the gates opened,’ WKRN TV reports.
The German national team has reportedly been taken to a secure location.
Police are currently ransacking the whole of Hannover stadium to ensure bombs had not been planted in there.
A second stadium at the same location have also been evacuated.

The terrorists threat would bring to mind last Friday’s attack on Paris, the French capital.
One of the venues of the attack was Stade de France where Germany was playing the French national football side.
Islamic State, which claimed responsibility for killing at least 127 people across Paris, said it would continue to attack countries who stand opposed to it.
ISIS also threatened to ‘attack the center of Washington,’ the seat of American government.
