The Commission behind the Nigerian National Merits Awards (NNMA) have announced they in a few weeks be honouring a total of 364 Nigerians who have distinguished themselves in their various professions.
Billionaire businessman Aliko Dangote will receive the highest award – Grand Commander of the Order of the Niger (GCON). The richest man in Africa, Dangote will be happy to receive the award which is usually reserved for top government officials.
Other recipients include Nollywood actors including Genevieve Nnaji, Stephanie Okerereke, Olu Jacobs, Kanayo O Kanayo, Osita Iheme, Super Eagles skipper captain Joseph Yobo, 1984 Summer Olympics Silver medalist Peter Konyegwachie and Commonwealth medalist Mariam Usm They will all be honoured with the Member of the Federal Republic (MFR) award.
The honorary ceremony is set to take place in December 2011.
The NNMA was established by Act No. 53 of 1979 under the then military administration of General Olusegun Obasanjo to confer the Nigerian National Order of Merit (NNOM) Award on deserving Nigerian citizens who have contributed outstandingly to national development in the areas of Science, Medicine, Engineering/Technology, Humanities, including Arts and Culture and other fields of human endeavour.

Also, is Forbes that named her as one of the most inflential celebrities in Africa baised? Let’s for once appreciate the good work that this girl is doing, she deserves more than this award
