It official. NET can authoritatively tell you that the contract between rapper Eva Alordiah and popular record label Trybe Records has been dissolved.
The news was made known by the management of Trybe Records in a statement exclusively released to NET. It reads:
‘Trybe Records and Eva Alordiah have agreed to terminate her recording contract effective immediately. Trybe Records’ vision is to discover and nurture the talents of our artists while operating with purpose, valuing relationships with our partners within the industry, and being persistent in creating and releasing quality music. Unfortunately, over the past 5 months Eva’s vision has not aligned with ours and thus, both parties have agreed to separate.
We wish Eva the best in her future endeavors and plan on continuing towards our goal of creating quality music for Nigeria and beyond‘.
NET investigations however reveal that the label is being modest with the statement. Inside sources told us Eva had since her signing in June been more than a handful to manage and/or coordinate with, demanding for more than what she was offered at all times and that the label was basically ‘tired of her antics’.
‘She never fit in from the start, always trying to stand out from the rest. She was always asking for more even when eLDee and co gave her an almost perfect platform to blow up‘, a friend close to the rapper tells us.
Eva might look like a rookie but some would tell you she does has a bit of history in the entertainment world. Right before her footling prominence and hook up with Trybe, she had worked with a few other managers-promoters.
Eva’s name was first heard while working with rapper M.I on his debut album, after a bit of running, she hooked up with former COOL FM OAP BooBoo who worked as her manager along with Obinna Agwu. Problems prevailed and they call it quits.
Eva also met up with PXC director MEX who tried signing her to his budding label but both parties fell out after she was allegedly ‘always rude’ to him, according to those familiar with their relationship.
NET gathered that she was also considered a replacement for Kel at CAPital Hill records but the deal wasn’t pursued as she was considered a ‘high risk’ decision to make.
Eva now works with her manager Ugo Date Izeogu who we learn is also her boyfriend. ‘Eva needs to throw away her attitude. She thinks bigger than herself and it’s killing her‘.
Some will however argue that that is what has gotten her this far, and she sits as one of the more promising female acts around now; featuring on Psquare and Bez‘s albums and performing at The Headies.
The rapper has acknowledged her parting ways but hasn’t gotten back to our queries over the news. ‘I’ll have to call you back, I’m driving‘, she told our reporter over the phone.
Repeated efforts to get her to speak with us were unsuccessful.

I totally agree with you. This is a one-sided biased report. If you look crazy all that was stated was done to brutally defame the poor girl’s image. I demad Eva to sue trybe records and eldee and whoever else. I dont believe on word of this.

this reportscreams “FALSE ACCUSATIONS”. i got reall pissed off at the point where it says, eva is managed by ugo who is also her boyfriend. even if this was true,oga how does it relate? why so much hate to one party?something is not right and eva is not talking. i have stayed on her TL on twitter hoping she says something. looks like her people have told her not to.

Ayeni, this article is too one sided. You should have waited to hear her side before unleashing the venom you spewed here. Sometimes, i find your professionalism questionable. A paper that has the likes of Chris Ihidero should not be this biased and unintelligent.
noted.i said the same thing. its funny how eva has been with trybe since may and there’s nothing to show for it. no photos, no single, no videos, nothing. Then they come here and say she was making unnecessary demands. is it not those demands you listen to before actually signing an artiste? Abi una nor sign true true.

i knew this was bad from the start. i think eva left becos trybe cannot afford to stand financially or otherwise as a label. the girl has achieved everything she has today before trybe came in so id like to believe she got up and left. this one-sided angry story was obviously done to save trybe’s face.
now all Eva’s rantings and complaining on twitter is justified.

First of all its not a true statement that trybe did not do anything for her.they took her to london to perform for olympics.if she was so huge how come she and her management could not get her on a international tour?aint nobody checking for a female rapper!which promoter in the uk would book her?to add that fab magazine cover was because if trybe!her image alone cannot sell a cover!trybe complimented the deal for this girl in sko many ways¡!and pls lets not be foolish here people ,of course she has recorded music under trybe but everything na turn by turn.one thing i know for sure is trybe will keep the music the created for her they aint stupid. This is the sort of bullshit that makes bullies think they can thrive. Who died and made Eldee judge over anybody? “Sue the judge” as per wetin? There are two sides to every story. whether trybe helped her career or not they’ve parted ways. If indeed she decides to sue because she feels she has grounds, let the court decide. Eldee may have paid his dues in the business, but it does NOT entitle him to bullying.

Eva was called for her side of the story but she didn’t answer her calls.
She doesn’t even talk to her fellow label mates and acts like she’s way better. She didn’t even use the label’s facilities (studio et all)
She refused to show the label any song she’s worked in the past 5months even after so many requests for them
They both won’t tell us the real story.
