Following a two-day protest over failing water and electricity supply, University of Lagos (UNILAG) suspended academic activities till further notice.
Students were, asked to leave from 10am on Friday April 8. Police officers deployed to enforce the eviction teargassed protesting students who refused to leave.
But many other students are already on their way home…on foot. It’s not that they’ll actually trek to their respective houses, anyways.

There are no buses to Yaba outside the school gate…fuel scarcity things. Motorbikes are reportedly charging N300 from the gate to Yaba bus stop where students should get buses to wherever.
Students heading to Iyana Ipaja were asked to pay N500 for buses. It used to be between N250 and N300.
Some students were spotted trekking to nearby Bariga to get buses home.
Meanwhile, many students are still in the school…daring the police to come drag them out.
The school’s union (ULSU) leaders also allegedly called UNILAG Vice Chancellor ‘drunk’ in a press statement.
