People know how to ease tension in different and funny ways. During the nail biting second leg against Real Madrid, Borussia Dortmund’s Chairman Hans-Joachim Watzke hid in a toilet in the Bernabeu with a few minutes on the clock.
‘It seems like we only can do it with drama. For the first time in my life I had to give up due to heart problems. I went to the toilet for the last few minutes, locked myself in, covered my ears and looked at my watch. I had all kinds of thought going through my head’ revealed Hans-Joachim Watzke.
If Real Madrid had scored a third goal in the dying minutes of the match they would have qualified for the UEFA Champions League on the away goal rule. Borussia Dortmund will be facing their German counterparts Bayern Munich at the final.
