Nollywood filmmaker Debola Santa Ogunsina has announced September 24, 2021, premiere date for his first feature film, ‘Mofe ni Mofe’, a moving Yoruba romantic drama.
‘Mofe Ni Mofe’ features Lateef Adedimeji, Jumoke Odetola, while Tope Tedela, winner of the Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Award (AMVCA) 2014 award for ‘Best Actor in a Drama’ category, made his Yoruba movie debut in ‘Mofe ni Mofe’.
Shot in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital, the film also stars veteran Jide Kosoko and Jaiye Kuti.
The romantic drama tells the gripping tale of a lovestruck couple opposed by all and sundry but who is determined to end up together, regardless of family objections, stubbornly present exes and promises from extended family members that may never come true.
According to Debola Santa, challenges in relationships and marriages are peculiar, but the film Mofe ni Mofe consciously highlights specific challenges around its fictional couple.
The film also highlights some of the social issues that surround relationships and wedding preparations that are rarely touched in movies of its kind.
Debola Santa, a talented Director whose previous works include Africa Magic Yoruba’s hit sitcom, ‘Awon Aladun De’, is a Theatre Arts graduate from the University of Ibadan.
