Davido’s ‘Gobe’ hits the heights at the top of the Official Naija Top 10 this week, swapping places with last week’s number one ‘Asiko‘ (Darey featuring Ice Prince and Jozi).
Banky W is the celebrity guest joining Ehis in the MTV Base studio for this week’s Official Naija Top 10 – chewing over the week’s chart and digging behind the headlines to discuss the music videos and personalities making it big on this week’s Nigerian music scene.
Banky W’s ‘Yes/No‘ moves from fourth place to number two, while Lynxx‘s ‘Ekiokwu‘ slips two places to number 4. This week’s new entry is D’Prince with ‘Goody Bag‘, which enters the chart at number 10. 2face continues to fill the number 8 position with ‘Dance Floor‘ to move to number 8 and Kcee with ‘Limpopo‘ – sit comfortably at number 5.
Every week, the Official Naija Top 10 is put together by an elite judging panel of Nigerian broadcasters, music specialists and tastemakers, working with MTV Base to pick the winners and losers in the week’s chart. On the panel are Onos Ariyo (Bella Naija.com), DJ Humility (Rhythm FM), DJ Jimmy Jatt, DJ Xclusive (Cool FM), Big Time (Rhythm FM), DJ Caise (The Beat FM), Toolz (The Beat FM) and Osagie Alonge (Nigerian Entertainment Today).
The fourteenth episode of the Official Naija Top 10 premiered on the MTV Base block on NTA on Friday 7 June, and can be seen on MTV Base (DStv Channel 322) on Tuesday 11 June @22.00 WAT, on AIT on Tuesday 11 June @ 21.30 WAT, and on STV on Thursday 13 June May @ 18.00 WAT. Next week’s chart will be revealed on Friday 14 June on NTA @ 23.30 WAT.
