Nigerian-born British actor Chiwetel Ejiofor is set to take on the London stage starring as the murdered African hero Patrice Lumumba in the play A Season in Congo.
The 36-year old award-winning actor who has featured in movies like Dirty Pretty Things, Othello, Salt amongst others recently filmed the adaptation of Chimamanda Adichie‘s Half of a Yellow Sun and Steve McQueen’s 12 Years a Slave.
Describing his tendency for always being hand-picked for certain type of roles in films the actor explains, ‘ In terms of ambition it is not really what parts I want to play or anything, it is more what I want to feel. I look at scripts really for whether they can be moving or penetrate some kind of truth‘.
