Actress, Bimbo Akintola has denied rumours that her disappearance from the movie scene was due to her relationship with afro-beat musician, Dede Mabiaku.
During an interview with Ebuka Obi-Uchendu on a recent edition of the programme, Rubbin’ Minds, she said ‘Dede has nothing to do with my career. My career is about me and about what I want to show the world’, adding that she just didn’t want to star in movies she termed as mediocre.
‘I believe that at this point in my life, I should be doing films that talk about what I believe in and the things that matter to me. You know at the beginning, we do all movies that come your way but after a while, you need to settle and ask yourself what you want to be remembered for’ she concluded.
Akintola also bared her mind on the missing Chibok girls and the ban on the Biyi Bandele directed Half of A Yellow Sun movie.
