Former BBNaija star, Khafi Kareem and her family have been left devastated after her brother, was shot dead in London on Monday, June 8, 2020.
The Sun UK reports that Alexander Kareem, 20, was gunned down close to his family home in Shepherd’s Bush, West London. He was said to have been walking home from a convenience store in the early hours of Monday morning when he was shot by an unknown gunman in a white Range Rover.
Residents near the scene in Shepherd’s Bush say he screamed out “help me” as he lay dying in the street at 12:40 am. Passers-by tried to give him CPR before the paramedics arrived but Alexander was soon pronounced dead.
Post-mortem reports revealed that Alexander Kareem was killed after suffering gunshot wounds to his chest and abdomen.
When he turned 20 on March 25, his sister Khafi Kareem took to Instagram to celebrate him. She said, ‘Happy Birthday to my youngest brother Alex!!! The baby who’s not a baby anymore!!! I thank God for your life and do not take you for granted!! I love you very much and I’m so proud of everything you are doing for yourself! You are a go-getter and I pray God blesses every step forward you are making. Love you.’
The white Range Rover Evoque driven by his killers was found burned out three miles away from the scene of the shooting. The UK Police are calling for any information about the car. Det Chief Inspector Wayne Jolley said, ‘We are determined to bring those responsible for this unnecessary and terrifying violence to justice. We continue to appeal for witnesses who may have seen or heard what happened to come forward. The white Range Rover seen in the area and later found burned out is also a key part of the investigation.’
A Met Police spokesman told The Sun that, “Officers from the Specialist Crime Command are investigating and are keeping an open mind as to the motive behind the attack. At this stage, there have been no arrests but enquiries are continuing.”
Khafi posted a black picture on her Instagram page last night to mourn him. She also told fans during her YouTube prayer chain earlier today to keep her family in prayer. She said, ‘Please just keep my family in prayer. I’m not ready to talk about it, yet. But, please just keep my family in prayers. The one thing I’m just gonna continue in this time is praying.’
