Dear Tosyn,
My story starts with when I had to go out of Lagos for a meeting. I met a friend of my friend, we had never met before but we talk on phone sometimes, we met and she was beautiful and very kind and also has a good laugh. Something magical happened and we are into each other. We share the same views on a lot of things and enjoy the same music and so on. I used to be a player before and then I met one girl that I did everything for but she still left me for my friend and I hardened my heart again. To cut a long story short, I want to ask you. Should I give love another chance?
Biggy.
Hi Biggy,
Wow, interesting! Or as I say it in my head, iiinttteresting.
Should you give love a second, third, fourth chance? Of course!
Love is the heart. And I am from the school of thought that you can’t help what you feel or how you feel. The only thing you can control, is what you do with how you feel.
So, generally, I would say you can’t give up on love because you got hurt. Sadly, it comes with the package because people we love leave us vulnerable. Love is vulnerability.
Now about the lady you met. Waooh! The romance in me likes the story! I can imagine it Hollywood style with soundtracks included!
Awww,
Snap!
Wake up!
Like Bon Jovi sang… this is Real Life!
First, you met her outside Lagos.
You ask yourself is this going to be a long distance thing. Is it something both of you is ready to handle? Then, love that happens in a few hours, days, minutes you may not be able to withstand the trials and reality that it sends your way! Yes you have a lot in common now but wait till you find out just where you differ.
Take a deep breath, enjoy what you feel, take it slow before committing! But of course, give love a chance.
Tosyn,
What are some risks involved in your work and how do you combat them?
Philip Owoniho
Philip, ‘Risks’! Interesting
Funny, this actually takes some thinking. It is usually easier to answer questions like, ‘What don’t you like about your job‘ or ‘Challenges faced‘. But I have thought about it, and also asked my friends Gbemi and Anita, and we came up with a few risks. Here are three of them!
– Security is something! We do not have as much protection as we could need especially when you consider the lack of privacy. So you are exposed to anything and anyone, which isn’t a big deal till they know your name and want to know why you haven’t played their songs.
– You also worry about saying the wrong thing and exposing yourself to lawsuits. Yes maybe it seems far-fetched but the truth is you could get in trouble, Or sometimes, saying the right thing can still put you in trouble.
– I think there are also health risks. The nature of your job means you sit a lot and that can lead to back aches, and loss of weight.
You just try to be careful and cautious, watch what you say and learn to use terms like ‘allegedly’ and have disclaimers, get a good chair, try to get some exercise in, and above all, PRAY!
Tosyn!
Before I carry last, what is a cipher?
Bolade
Bolade,
Good question. You want the long answer or the summary?
Summary- a cipher is a freestyle or jam session with a group of rappers. Funny thing, poets also have ciphers (circle of poets taking turns) as do break dancers (taking turns dancing in the centre).
In the meantime, keep sending those mails in
