An Arsenal fan has been arrested in the aftermath of the match between Manchester United and Arsenal last weekend.
The fan is in custody for allegedly throwing a red wine object towards Manchester United’s bench.
The incident reportedly occurred minutes after an Antonio Valencia shot deflected off Kieran Gibbs before sliding into Arsenal’s goal post on Saturday, November 22, 2014, at the Emirates stadium.
An Arsenal spokesman also confirmed the arrest saying:
‘A male was arrested at the stadium for throwing an object towards the Manchester United bench after the first Manchester United goal.
‘There will be full co-operation between Arsenal and the Met Police – we do not tolerate anti-social behaviour. If found guilty, (the) individual will also be banned by (the) club.’
The match between two of biggest teams in England, ended 2 – 1 in favour of Manchester United now coached by Louis van Gaal.
